It's not enough that I get calls from rude people who think that because they waited a long time on hold, they are then entitled to my full name and personal phone number so that they can call me any time of day and harass me about their issues so that their calls will not be recorded and I will become their personal slave.

Nope.

I just got a call on my personal line. Voicemail of course because I can never answer my personal line because I have to reset passwords all day.

This lady was from "Sharepoint Systems" and was trying to verify someone's employment.

Now, there is another person with my name at this company and I thought maybe they were trying to reach her because I know she works in Human Resources.

So I call the person at Sharepoint back and say I can't verify employment of people here. She, of course, demanded I transfer her to Human Resources. I, of course, refused, saying I'm in tech support and I don't have a directory in front of me (despite the fact I am FREQUENTLY mistaken for a receptionist).

Then comes the even more special time-wasting part of the morning.

"Is this the phone number for the library downtown on Herndon?"

"Um, no, actually, this is my personal phone number at work here and has been for two years."

"So you can't verify employment at the library?"

"Um, no."

WTF ARE THESE CALLS.
