Do you have any idea how many people who are total and completely uneducable morons call me to get their passwords reset?

A lot.

I have to ask them, when I reset, if they want it to be lower case, because the password is case sensitive. This question stumps more than 75% of all people I ask it of.

"Do you want the letters to be all lower case?"

"I don't know what you mean."

That is the most common response.

But sometimes they get a little creative.

Several people have asked me, "Don't you mean lower CAPS?"

And I ask, "Lower caps?"

"Yes, as opposed to upper caps."

Yes, these people think that we have "lower caps" and "upper caps."

Well, then you might expect some younger people not to know what "lower case" and "upper case" are because nobody takes grammar or spelling classes anymore, as is evidenced by the state of the Internet.

But then how to explain this old dude I spoke to last week?

"Do you want the letters in your password to be all lower case?"

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"Lower case, rather than upper case, all caps?"

"Listen, young lady, you have to understand that I am eighty years old and I don't use these new-fangled expressions. Do you mean small letters?"

"Sure." (inward sigh)

Most of these people make more than I do. Many make more than twice what I do. Lovely.
