If I had my own company, I would make the following a firing offense:

Opening an email attachment and thereby infecting the company network with a lame virus.

At my company, wanton stupidity would be an automatic firing offense. Sounds pretty fair, doesn't it? I would put it in the contract so it wouldn't be a surprise, of course. I am fair, after all.
