I'm pretty damn mad. They preempted Buffy for an Orlando Magic game that was already airing on TBS. And it was the musical Buffy, the really hyped one!

I wrote to [email protected] to complain:

Subject: I have never been so angry with a television station

How dare you move Buffy because of a stupid basketball game and then, in this great marketing ploy, try to pass it off as something COOL?

A "special time"?! Wow! Aren't we lucky!

You sure better be showing the ENTIRE episode, not the hourlong version, at those "special times."

Nice bait-and-switch. Very, very nice. Thanks for caring.

They replied:

Thank you for your e-mail

All television stations occasionally preempt regular programming for live sports events or special telecasts. Rather than air the preempted programs at a variable late night time following live sports, we have chosen to run the programs at a specific early evening time on another date. This makes it possible for more people to see the re-scheduled programs. Buffy and Roswell preempted on 11/6 will air in an extended length format on Saturday Nov. 10, 8:00 pm-10:06 pm. Buffy will also repeat in a standard 1 hour format on Friday Nov.16, 8:00 pm-9:00 pm.

This information has been advertised on the air, in our program listings, published by the press and noted on our web site, www.upn65.tv. Our Magic schedule is also available on our web site. Unfortunately some announcements originating nationally from the UPN network, not WRBW, have created some confusion as to Buffy/Roswell telecast times and dates. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the erroneous UPN network announcements.

WRBW is pleased that we can present Buffy, Roswell, and the Magic so all of our viewers can see their favorite programs.

Nice lecture, eh? Go away, little girl, you're bothering me. Don't you realize a non-playoff game that's already being aired on another channel is more important than your show that we promised you'd be able to see?
